What do llamas eat?
They eat about a square bale of hay a day or the equivalent. They eat very little compared to horses and cattle. More like a sheep. They can eat on pasture in the summer months.
Do llamas need shearing?
Yes, they should be sheared every year if they are wooly, and every other year if they have less wool. We shear in May, but it will depend on how warm the weather is where you live.
Do llamas need a barn to go in?
A barn or shed that they can go in in bad weather is needed, but you could get away with a three sided south facing sheep or calf shelter
